#70 DANCE FOR A LIFE SAVED

#70 DANCE FOR A LIFE SAVED

A Sunday afternoon in the Park.

Fifteen young dancers, all dressed in white. Each sits on a large square of white paper. They are spread out randomly around the fountain. The fountain is dry, and In the center stands a tall young man in a white tee and a flowing long white skirt. All are waiting.

At exactly 1:40 the man begins to move, and all the others mimic his moves. It is a dance of sorts, titled Feathered Memories, to commemorate two years since his failed suicide attempt. Some people watch intently. Others watch briefly and walk on. It is over in 7 minutes. A smattering of applause.

The dancers roll up their papers and head off to celebrate their still living friend.
They hand out the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number: 800 273 8255.
