#91. THEY STILL COME TO NYC

#91. THEY STILL COME TO NYC

Who’s “they”? The writers, the artists, the actors, the talented, and the wannabees.

Today in Washington Square I met one on his first visit to the Park. He sets up a small folding table, stands behind it. The table holds only four paperback books, one supported by a tall thermos. The books are a distinctive green shade. The thermos matches them, which I comment on.

“Oh, that wasn’t planned, but it looks good, no?

Yes, it does. And we talk. Raphael Chloé, from Arizona, is promoting this novel TØSKA, which he wrote and published. He did it all. Even set the type. He’s serious. About writing, about publishing, about changing literature today. Google Ex Verbo Press for more. “Do you read Literary Fiction?” He challenges me. He exudes passion. He is creating a new literary movement he calls Physicism. And he came to New York because this was the place to make it happen.

I am touched by his youthful exuberance. I buy his book. To be cool I pay with Venmo.
